Malmporten is one of the largest fairway and dredging projects in the Nordic region. The project involves deepening the access channel and harbour basin at the Port of Luleå, enabling larger vessels to operate in the area. The development will increase the port’s capacity and support international logistics for northern Sweden’s industries and fossil-free steel production. Construction activities are scheduled to commence in phases during 2027. The project is being carried out by Boskalis together with its partners.
